On May 13, 2025, Meta released a study revealing that its personalized advertising technologies contributed nearly $550 billion to the U.S. economy and supported 3.4 million jobs in 2024. This marks a 32.5% increase in economic activity and a 10% rise in employment compared to 2022.

Over 35 million U.S. businesses utilize Meta’s platforms, with more than 2 million advertising monthly on Facebook and Instagram. The study, based on UC Berkeley research methods and U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis multipliers, highlights the significant impact of Meta’s ad technologies.

Advertisers using Meta’s AI-driven tools experienced a 22% improvement in return on ad spend, averaging $4.52 for every dollar invested. Those not using these tools still saw a return of $3.71 per dollar.
