WhatsApp’s latest Android beta update (version 2.25.15.6) introduces eight new emojis from Unicode 16.0, now accessible directly within the app’s emoji keyboard. Previously visible only when sent by iOS users or through third-party keyboards, these emojis are now fully integrated into WhatsApp for Android, enhancing cross-platform consistency.

These emojis expand the expressive options for users, covering themes from fatigue and identity to nature and regional representation. The update aligns WhatsApp’s emoji offerings with the latest Unicode standards, ensuring users have access to the most current symbols.
The new additions include:
- A tired face with bags under the eyes
- A fingerprint
- A leafless tree
- A root vegetable
- A harp
- A shovel
- A splatter
- The flag of Sark
While some of it could definitely be seen as one’s users would use, only time and feedback from the stable release of these would tell. The update is available through the Google Play Beta Program. Users interested in these new emojis should ensure they have the latest beta version installed to access them directly from the emoji keyboard.
