Titanfall developers Respawn Entertainment has unveiled their Oculus Rift exclusive video game: Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.

While the prestigious shooter developer has been vocal about its partnership with Oculus, its secret project has remained just that – secret. Until today that is!

Aiming to release in Summer 2020, Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond is described as a realistic FPS combat experience. Featuring what Respawn is describing as a “full-length campaign” in VR, the title does appear to be a AAA VR experience.

Players will be able to tackle the Nazi menace as part of the French Resistance during WW2; no Wolfenstein near-future dystopia here! With a variety of land, air and sea missions, Respawn is creating the full WW2 experience for VR gamers.

Publisher and owners of Respawn Entertainment EA has also announced that the campaign will not be all this new Medal of Honor game has to offer. In fact, the title will also “include unique multiplayer modes and features”.

“It’s a great feeling to introduce Medal of Honor to a whole new generation of gamers on a new platform for the franchise,” says Game Director Pete Hirschmann.

“I’ve been fortunate to be a part of this franchise since the beginning, and putting this game on the Oculus Rift allows us to be more immersive than we’ve ever been before. With Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, I think we’re finally able to fully realise that vision from 20 years ago.”

Since its first title Titanfall, developer Respawn Entertainment has created hit after hit. With Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order coming this season, they seem to be creating another amazing title.
