MasterCard Certifies Nokia Lumia 610 NFC As PayPass Ready Device

Last month, Nokia announced the new Nokia Lumia 610 NFCdevice which will be available on Orange UK later this year. The Lumia 610 NFC device will include payment solution support from Visa and MasterCard. Today, MasterCard made an announcement about “MasterCard PayPass Ready” certified devices which included Nokia Lumia 610 NFC.

Nokia on PayPass Ready certification,

“Nokia is honored that the Nokia Lumia 610 NFC will be one the world’s first smartphones to include MasterCard’s PayPass Ready brand mark,” said Andrea Bacioccola, NFC Lead Program Manager, Nokia. “This sends a clear message to operators, banks and other service providers that Nokia is able to quickly enable their payment services on this smartphone.”
