Popular Destiny streamer King Gothalion is making the switch from Twitch. Instead of utilizing Amazon’s video game streaming service, the livestreamer will now be exclusive to Microsoft’s Mixer.
Following in the footsteps of popular streamers Ninja and Shroud, the Destiny player is yet another high profile streamer to move to Mixer. After the acquisition of Twitch‘s number one streamer, it would appear many are jumping ship.
The streamer announced his leave from Twitch on his Twitter account, although he won’t be absent from the platform entirely. Cory “Gothalion” Michael will still be on other streaming platforms in some variety: the streamer often features in the streams of other Destiny players.
“As of the 29th October, we will be streaming exclusively on Mixer,” Gothalion announced on Twitter. “I sat down thinking this was going to be a tough decision, but honestly, it felt kind of easy peasy.”
“Everything from helping broadcasters establish themselves, mentoring growing broadcasters, raising money for charity and putting on events… It just made sense to have a partnership like this one where I get to have platform level input.”
Michael’s first stream on Mixer will take place on October 29th at 8am ET. While his current channel on Twitch boasts over half a million followers, some are already making their way over to Mixer. While not even a dent on the streamer’s original channel numbers, he already has over 28,000 Mixer followers. https://twitter.com/Gothalion/status/1188487236083433472
