Joe Belfiore is one of the best known faces of Windows Phone, and currently holds the position of Vice President, Windows Phone Program Management & Design at Microsoft.
It seems however he’s set to expand his duties, with the Verge reporting that he is taking over some of Dean Hachamovitch’s IE development duties , specifically those related to the app side of Internet Explorer and the user experience.
A separate team will be working on developing the IE rendering engine.
Hopefully Joe will gain an appreciation for a somewhat more flexible browser – while IE10 on Windows Phone is pretty fast and renders well, I think the app could benefit from simple features such a password manager.
Do our readers worry about Joe losing focus, or will the cross-over be good for Windows phone? Let us know below.
