Instagram today has added another feature to its app that refines the shopping experience if you’re into shopping stuff from Instagram. About a year back Instagram announced Checkout which allowed users to buy products off Instagram with ease.
Now the company is partnering with a handful of brands that sell their products directly on Instagram with augmented reality try-on feature. The feature will allow users to experience the products and see how they will look with the products before buying them. While checking the product, users will get an option to try it out in AR. Instagram is also hoping users will share the AR experiences in stories for others to check the product out.
You can share it through Stories with friends, brands can create Stories — that’s definitely one of the primary ways in which we think that people will shop.

The new feature is currently limited to very few brands which include Mac, Nars, Warby Parker and Ray-Ban. While e-commerce is certainly not the primary business model of Instagram, Facebook is betting big on its success to better capture customers in the future.
