If things weren’t bad for Samsung, Huawei had made them worse. With Samsung cancelling the launch of Galaxy Fold, everyone assumed that Huawei Mate X will meet the same fate as Galaxy Fold. However, if you had your eyes set on a fancy smartphone then there’s good news.
According to a Chinese news site MyDrivers (via BGR), Huawei is going forward with the launch of Mate X. The website got confirmation from someone at Huawei that the company is prepared for the launch scheduled in June. However, seeing the Galaxy Fold disaster, it might be a good idea to let reviewers publish their initial reviews before spending your hard earned money on Mate X. That said, the Mate X sure does look and feel sturdier than the Galaxy Fold.
At this point we don’t have much information surrounding the availability of Mate X. Huawei might target just a bunch of countries at launch and expand later on. We do hope that Huawei gets a successful launch because, in my opinion, Mate X looks a lot better than the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
