After multiple delays, it looks like Huawei might launch the Mate X next month. Huawei has faced a lot of issues in the last couple of months but that hasn’t stopped the company from launching new products.
Now Huawei’s Chairman Richard Yu has confirmed that the company is planning to launch the Mate X in October. Not only that, but he also confirmed that Huawei is planning to launch a more powerful version of Mate X with the latest 5G Kirin 990 SoC.
We were going to sell the Mate X last month, but we postponed that. Maybe we will start to sell the Mate X next month. We are also considering an upgrade to the new chipset.
– Richard Yu (via Digital Trends)
Currently, the Mate X is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 980 SoC and Yu confirmed that the phone will be arriving in October. He didn’t, however, comment on the availability of the revised Mate X with Kirin 990 SoC. Huawei is holding an event later this month and we expect the company to talk more about Mate X at the event along with the launch of Mate 30 series.
