Some companies are still chasing Apple’s iPhone features, including the world’s second-largest phone OEM, who recently overtook Apple.  Some may say Huawei managed to overtake Apple because they are wholesale copying their features, but that is neither here nor there.

A trademark application has revealed Huawei’s take on Apple’s animoji, the 3D CuteMoji, which uses an AR sensor which was also present on the P20 to create the face-fitting animations.

Unlike the previous iteration, called 3D Live Emoji or Qmoji, these are expected to feature more real-life characters such as the POTUS for example.

The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are expected to be announced at MWC 2019 in February and may feature 4 and 5 rear cameras respectively.
