Huawei today launched a new flagship Android phone: the Mate 10. The company’s latest flagship comes in two sizes, a regular 5.9-inch and a 6.9-inch variant called the Mate 10 Pro. Both of the devices come with high-end specs, which isn’t too surprising. They also lack the bezels on the sides now to give you the “bezel-less” screen, as long as you can ignore the bezels on the top and bottom.

The Mate 10 comes with a 5.9-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, while the larger Mate 10 Pro comes with a 6-inch display with a resolution of 6-inch 2160×1080 pixels. Both of the devices come with 4GB of RAM, but Huawei will be selling a 6GB variant of the Mate 10 Pro as well. Both the devices also pack Huawei’s own Kirin 970 CPU, a 4,000mAhy battery, dual cameras on the back. The Mate 10 will come with 64GB of internal storage, but the bigger Pro variant will also be available with 128GB of storage. Huawei’s also teaming up with Porsche Design to build a different design for the Mate 10 Pro which comes with 256GB of storage.

A big focus of the new Mate 10 line is the new NPU — the Neural Processing Unit. The NPU on the Mate 10 is going to handle all the AI tasks right on your device. It will be able to detect contents of an image really fast, and it will also be able to optimize your device for long-term usage using AI. Huawei is also teaming up with Microsoft to pack Redmond’s Translator app on the new Mate 10 devices. The device will use its NPU and AI to offer real-time translations of text and characters on your camera which is really amazing.

Huawei will start selling the new Mate 10 next month, starting at $825. The Mate 10 Pro, on the other hand, will cost you $943. And if you are going for the Porsche Design variant, you will have to spend a $1,647 — yep.
