There has been rumours that Microsoft’s deal with Nokia may intimidate Huawei into quitting the operating system.

Richard Ren, Huawei executive who heads the company’s consumer unit in Europe, told reporters in Stockholm on Thursday however:

"We will continue to develop devices running Windows Phone, and launch more products. We remain one of Microsoft’s strategic partners."

Now news of two upcoming Windows Phones from the company show that the company is putting its money where its mouth is.

CNBeta has pictures of the Huawei Ascend W3, which is a mid-range Windows Phone 8 handset with a slim metal design, and which will be available in Blue and Yellow.

The leaked image bears the logo of China Mobile, and should therefore show up on that carrier. It is also however expected to show up on China Telecom and China Unicom and will support multiple LTE networks in the country.

The handset is expected to be shown off at CES 2014 and hit the market in January that year.

CNBeta also reports that the company is working on a high end Windows Phone which is comparable in features to the Ascend D2, which features a 13 megapixel camera, 5 inch 1080P screen and 32 GB of storage. No release date for this handset is know  however.
