Huawei announce upgraded Matebook D (2018) with Nvidia MX150

Huawei has announced an upgrade to their Matebook D Macbook killer, with the 2018 version featuring new processors and GPUs.

The Huawei MateBook D (2018) features the same design as the 2017 version, being just 16.9 mm thick with a 15.6-inch 1080P screen with 250 nits brightness and 83% screen to body ratio.

New is the Intel 8th Generation Core i5-8250U processor and Nvidia MX150, an upgrade over the Nvidia 940MX.

The selection includes:

  • i5-8250U / 8GB memory / 256GB SSD / MX150 graphics card 5188 yuan ($790)
  • i5-8250U / 8G memory / 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD / MX150 graphics card 5488 yuan ($840)
  • i7-8550U / 8G memory / 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD / MX150 graphics 6688 yuan ($1020)

The MateBook D (2018) also packs a 43.3Wh battery with up to 10 hours battery life and 8.5 hours of video playback, Dolby panoramic speakers, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, and an HDMI port and a dual-antenna design for Wi-Fi.

It also features a power adaptor which only weighs 175g for easy travel.

The laptop is currently on sale in China, with worldwide distribution not announced yet.
