imageWe have heard rumours that the itself rumoured high end  HTC Windows Phone, the HTC Zenith, has been cancelled, and the leaked specs of the rumoured HTC Tiara, due later this year, with its WVGA screen and 8GB of storage, are also not very inspiring.

With all these rumours we do have one fact – HTC is not planning to launch a high end Windows Phone handset this year.

Speaking to omio, Phil Roberson, head of HTC UK and Ireland, said there will be only the HTC One.

“Last year we had the X and the S, where people had different personal preferences between the two. We just said, let’s just create one flagship device for this year,” he said.

When asked  “So, there won’t be any more HTC something’s this year?”

Roberson replied – “No; this is The One”.

HTC has already intimated that Windows Phone will not support the camera innovations in the HTC One, and that their Windows Phone sales have not met their expectations.

With the HTC Tiara already leaked, the news in some ways does make it easier for future Windows Phone buyers, making it clear if you want a new high-end Windows Phone there will be no point looking beyond Nokia.
