We have heard recent rumours, vociferously denied by HP, that the HP Elite X3 is to be end-of-life’d soon. It is therefore very surprising to hear the opposite rumour, that a new launch is on the cards for the device.

HP introduced the HP Elite X3 more than a year ago, and at the time many fans were disappointed that it only supported GSM bands.

In July 2017 we were the first to confirm the existence of the Verizon HP Elite X3, after the device showed up in Bluetooth Certification.

Now it appears the device has also been certified for Verizon’s network, with details of the device showing up on opendevelopment.verizonwireless.com.

The certification shows that besides LTE the device also supports CDMA and EV-DO and joins certifications at the FCC, WIFI Org and Bluetooth SIG, suggesting this is indeed a project the company is planning to pursue.

It is not known when the device will become available, but it is rumoured for a mid-October launch via Microsoft Stores or Verizon online.

Those looking forward to the arrival of the handset can read our full review of the GSM version here.
