HP has announced Pro Tablet 608, a business focused 8-inch Windows tablet. It measures just 0.32 inches (8.35 mm) and 0.79 pounds (360g), so the HP Pro Tablet 608 is one of the thinnest and lightest Windows tablets in the world. It comes with 7.9″ diagonal FHD multi-touch display with Corning Gorilla Glass (2048 x 1536), 8MP and 2MP cameras, 8 hours of battery life and USB-C port. Pro Tablet 608 is powered by Intel Atom x5-Z8500 with Intel HD Graphics with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of eMMc storage. It packs DTS Studio Sound, Dual stereo speakers, Accelerometer, eCompass, Gyroscope, Ambient light sensor, Hall effect and Haptics sensors.
Designed with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and a metal-reinforced chassis, this tablet endured more than 115,000 hours of durability testing. Productivity is enabled in the office and at the work site with dual-band WLAN ac/b/g/n and a choice of optional 3G or 4G WWAN.
The Windows 8.1 version of the 608 will be available in mid-July for $479 in the US and Windows 10 version will also be available for same price in late August.
