I came across lots of people reporting that they are facing “Device limit reached” error when installing apps in Windows 10 Store.

It looks like you’ve reached your device limit for installing apps and games from the Store on your Windows 10 device. If you want to install apps and games from the Store on another Windows 10 device, remove a device from the device list.

When Microsoft launched Windows 8, they allowed users to install apps in up to 5 devices at a time. In Windows 8.1, Microsoft increased this number to 81. With Windows 10, Microsoft has decreased this number to 10. So, if you had more than 10 devices before Windows 10 upgrade, due to the decrease in device limit in Windows 10, Windows 10 Store will show “Device limit reached” error.

How to fix this issue?

Go to https://account.microsoft.com/devices and remove the devices which you no longer need.
