We have heard our readers loud and clear, and what you are saying is that you would love to hear more from the homebrew scene.
Appropriate then that the first of our stories on this issue is a homebrew registry editor for Windows Phone 7, released by Julien Schapman from Touchxperience.com.
The software is full featured, and can explore and search registry, and create/edit/delete registry keys and values.
The XAP can be downloaded here, and of course needs to be side-loaded on a developer-unlocked device, either officially or via an app like ChevronWP7.
A good collection of registry hacks can be found here in this XDA-Developers thread. Below is a few good ones.
Increase the number of unsigned apps from 10 to unlimited.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg\Install] "MaxUnsignedApp"=dword:7fffffff ; Allow max number of unsigned apps
Prevent the two-weekly relocking for ChevronWP7 unlocked device
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg]
"PortalUrlProd"="""PortalUrlInt"=""
Increase system volume
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Volume]
"Key"=dword:2"Screen"=dword:2
"Mute"=dword:7
"Volume"=dword:C666C666
"MaxSystemUIVolume"=dword:1E
"MaxInCallUIVolume"=dword:A
"MaxdBAtten"=dword:2D
"MinInCallVolume"=dword:1111
I’m sure a lot more will pop up soon.
