Being able to peer through walls has been one of the earliest demos of Microsoft’s HoloLens, but it took emulating Valve’s super-popular Portal game to really catch the imagination of the web.
Serial HoloLens hacker Kenny W has created a video using elements of the classic puzzle game who’s iconic feature is being able to create holes in walls to distant locations.
In the video users are able to shoot holes in their surfaces, allowing companion cubes to drop very convincingly onto the floor, bouncing off the other real-world objects along the way.
Like Kenny W’s earlier project, depicting a real augmented reality Pokemon Go game, I suspect even at $3000 Microsoft may get a few more consumers interested in their headset if these titles were in fact real.
See Kenny’s other work at his channel here.
Update: Here is another portal-like demo showing the amazing abilities of the platform.
