Harman Kardon announces a smart speaker with Google Assistant

Regular readers will be familiar with Harman Kardon’s smart speakers from their Cortana-powered Invoke speaker, Now the company has announced a new smart speaker powered by Google Assistant. Called Citation 500, the speaker will be shown off at the IFA 2018 which is starting in a couple of days.

The speaker has 200W stereo speakers and supports 24 bit/96Khz high-definition audio streaming. There is also an LCD on the top of to control playback and as well as Google Assistant. Since the speaker comes with Google Assistant, it can be used to control smart hub functions like lights, switches and thermostats.

The Citation 500 has a beautiful wool covers similar to Google Home and comes in grey and black colour options. The speakers will cost $700 or £549 and will be available for preorder in Europe at the end of September. Harman Kardon also has two more smart speakers called Allure which is powered by Alexa.
