Google is working on making Progressive Web Apps more at home on Windows 10 with a new feature which will make them more similar to native applications.

Besides making it super-easy to install PWAs from the web to your PC using a button on the Omnibox, Google is also working on adding support for badges to icons pinned on your taskbar, as can be seen in the image above.

The new Badging API is similar to notifications but will be updated much more frequently.

It is being tested in Chrome 73 beta, and should reach general users in a few weeks.
