May 27, 2025: Google just launched a web app that pulled key numbers from last week’s I/O 2025 keynote and built it entirely using its tools.
Instead of releasing a typical recap, the team ran the keynote transcript through Gemini, then used Canvas to break down the highlights into interactive tiles. Each tile shows a stat from the event and explains what it means. Users can click around to get quick context without scrubbing through the full keynote.

The project wasn’t fully automated. After Gemini and Canvas generated the first version, the team manually reviewed and edited the results to clean up any errors and tighten the presentation.
Some figures highlight product growth, others call out major AI upgrades, and there’s even a post-event update for anyone still following I/O developments. Canvas, which also received updates during the keynote, handled most of the backend work in presenting the data.
You can try the app now. It’s a compact, visual way to catch up on what Google emphasized at I/O – no need to rewatch the full keynote or scroll through slides. Just click and skim.
