Recently, we reported that Google has made significant improvements to Chrome web browser’s power consumption on Windows. Apart from the battery life, another popular complaint against Chrome is its memory management. Opening multiple numbers of tabs on Chrome will soon fill up your PC’s RAM leading to overall sluggish performance. Google Chrome team has now announced that they are making no.of changes to improve memory management of their V8 JavaScript engine in Chrome.

Over the last few months, the V8 team analyzed and significantly reduced the memory footprint of several websites that were identified as representative of modern web development patterns. They observed a 50% reduction of average V8 heap size on a set of benchmarks. They are also making improvements to make Google Chrome run better on devices with less than 1GB of RAM.
