Slack is one of the popular cloud-based collaboration software tools in the market right now, and of course, a rival of Microsoft Teams. Now, the Google Calendar app for Slack has received a new update, which has added a useful new feature to the app.

With the latest update, Google Calendar app for Slack can now sync your automatically sync your calendar to your Slack Status to let your teams know when are going to attend a meeting.

The feature is going to be useful as it eliminates the need to set status both on Slack and Google Calendar. Slack will now be able to adjust the status based on the status of your Google Calendar. Aside from that, the Google Calendar for Slack can do the following:

  • Automatically sync your calendar to your Slack status to let your team know when you are in a meeting.
  • See a daily summary of events on your calendar.
  • Get notified when an event is starting soon.
  • Respond directly to event invitations.
  • Get updated when an event’s details change, and change your response as needed.
  • Join a Hangout or Zoom call directly from the calendar reminder in Slack.
