Google today announced two new voice accents for Google Assistant. English language users in the US can now choose the new Australian-accented voice or a British-accented voice for their Google Assistant across devices.

Google built these voices using DeepMindā€™s speech synthesis model WaveNet, which uses deep neural networks to generate raw audio waveforms. Google mentioned that usage of WaveNet has resulted in more realistic and natural-sounding voices for the Google Assistant.

You can change your default voice for your Assistant by going to to ā€œSettings->Assistant->Assistant voice.ā€ You will now have two new options: ā€œSydney Harbour Blueā€ for the Australian voice, and ā€œBritish Racing Greenā€ for the British voice.
