Google today announced two new voice accents for Google Assistant. English language users in the US can now choose the new Australian-accented voice or a British-accented voice for their Google Assistant across devices.

Google built these voices using DeepMind’s speech synthesis model WaveNet, which uses deep neural networks to generate raw audio waveforms. Google mentioned that usage of WaveNet has resulted in more realistic and natural-sounding voices for the Google Assistant.

You can change your default voice for your Assistant by going to to “Settings->Assistant->Assistant voice.” You will now have two new options: “Sydney Harbour Blue” for the Australian voice, and “British Racing Green” for the British voice.
