Bad Guitar Studio has announced that FragPunk will officially launch on April 29, 2025, as a free-to-play title for Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC.  this is a fast paced first-person shooter (FPS) and it adds a unique gameplay mechanic, Shard Cards. Meant to break the FPS mold, these cards provide very powerful modifiers that introduce a new layer of tactics and unpredictability to every match.

Inspired by sports rule reforms aimed at enhancing suspense, FragPunk’s producer Chang Xin aimed to bring similar excitement to competitive shooters. The Shard Cards inject dynamic changes into matches, helping newer players enjoy the game and offering even skilled players fresh strategic options.

Building the card system came with challenges, particularly in balancing fairness and creativity. Yet, cards like “Dimensional Travel” — making players invisible to enemies — show how FragPunk breaks conventional design rules to create thrilling experiences.

The game’s main mode, Shard Clash, reimagines classic bomb defusal gameplay, with cards that can transform tactics, such as granting invincibility while planting.

By blending core FPS skills with unpredictable strategies, FragPunk promises a unique and evolving battlefield where no two matches are the same. Players can wishlist the game now and prepare to rewrite the FPS rulebook this April.
