Last week, we exclusively reported about the Microsoft’s executions to turn existing Nokia stores in Brazil into Microsoft stores. And today the first of a total of around 30 stores and dozens of other kiosks in the country is open and we can see its interior. It is located in the Eldorado Mall, Sao Paulo – one of the biggest cities in Latin America.
Not much seems to have changed from what we know from the previously existing Nokia store in that place, besides the sales of some new Microsoft products. Now some products besides Lumia related start to be sold too – like Xbox Live and Skype cards and Office 365. But no informations about Surface products or other hardware from Microsoft yet. Along with the Microsoft’s logo in the entrance, you can see the “Authorized reseller” writing.
One of the main attractions of the store is a Xbox device where you can interact with it. When you put your hand on a game you want to buy, the Xbox plays a video of that game, so you can see what you are going to get home. It also has a “clever shelf”, that identifies the most visited products of the store and offers plus interesting products. The first 100 customers won cases, Office licenses and other gifts.
