Windows 11 2023 update (23H2) will be released later this year

The talk of the town has been one and one thing only: when will Microsoft launch the hotly-anticipated Windows 11 2023 update? Often dubbed as the 23H2 update, Redmond officials boasted that it’ll contain 150 updates and is “the best Windows ever.”

In case you missed it, Microsoft announced during the Surface 2023 event this year that a big update of the operating system is coming hot with a lot of AI-infused features, like the Cocreator on Paint, Copilot in Windows, and more.

Microsoft said the launch would be on September 26th, but people got confused. Some news publications mistook today’s update with the 23H2. Today, they are releasing features as part of an optional September non-security update, not the 23H2.

“This continues the annual feature update cadence, with new feature updates released in the second half of the calendar year. This new version resets the 24 months of support for Home and Pro editions and 36 months of support for Enterprise and Education editions,” says Microsoft.

So, when will the big Windows 11 2023 update hit its release window? Microsoft announced all the way back in July that the 23H2 version is coming in the fourth quarter of 2023, meaning that it’ll likely arrive in October or November.
