Facebook announced today that it has agreed to acquire Instagram, a fun, popular photo-sharing app for mobile devices. The price Facebook is paying Instagram is approximately $1 billion! Such a huge amount for a photo filter app with a community. Facebook may have many reasons behind this acquisition, but I think it must be for their young talent, few photo filter technologies and most importantly killing off the only competition in photo sharing world. What it means for us ?? Instagram may come to Windows Phone sooner than expected since Microsoft has a very good relationship and also an investor with Facebook.
