DOLBY Mobile may come to HTC handsets Dolby Mobile is a new technology by Dolby designed to give consumers a rich, full-impact audio experience with multi-channel audio right out of the box for movies, videos, and music.

Dolby Mobile allows device makers to enable a multitude of audio settings, including full 5.1-channel HD audio. Dolby helps tune these settings to the mobile device and type of content, so consumers know to expect great audio when they press the Dolby button to activate Dolby Mobile.

Dolby has been having success in getting OEM’s to sign up for the solution, and Digitimes reports the company is now pushing for both Apple and HTC to get on board, after some success with LG and Nokia.

In 2010, LG will unveil 20 new handsets with Dolby audio solutions, and Nokia recently launched the N8 smartphone, which also comes with Dolby technology.

Dolby is expected to showcase new mobile audio technology in Computex Taipei 2010 in June.
