Update: In their recent earnings call, Activision said that they’re looking to bring back other franchises through remasters now that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is a success.
Spyro the Dragon is a legendary franchise that hasn’t seen a new release in years. While the title did give us games like Skylanders, it’s still missed by many gamers. Hopefully the success of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will convince Activision to bring Spyro the Dragon back from the dead. While many of us thought that the company wasn’t experimenting with the franchise, new footage emerged today of a cancelled Spyro the Dragon game for the original Xbox.

Mike Mika, the developer of #IDARB, shared gameplay on Twitter. The game seemed to have been cancelled because of a lot of clashing ideas. While we may never get this Spyro the Dragon game again, there’s always hope for the future. We imagine Activision will remaster these titles next.
