Comscore has released some market share numbers for USA for the 3 months ending December 2015.

The numbers reveal 2.9% of US smartphone users used Windows Phone, showing no change in the % of smartphone users when compared to September 2015, despite a dramatic drop in sales over the same period, according to Kantar.

It is good to see that the numbers are now remaining constant as the last report published by Comscore revealed a drop of market share by 0.1%. However, we did expected to see some boost in the market share related to the launch of the Lumia 950 which seems to be a somewhat distant dream now.

At 2.9% of 197.4 million smartphone users in USA the installed base did however rise from 5.47 million in the November month to 5.72 million in December, suggesting the OS did in fact make some converts and was holding on to its users unexpectedly well.
