Announced at CES today, Dell’s newest Alienware laptops are poised to set the gaming laptop world alight with support for Nvidia’s RTX ray-tracing technology.

While the initial m15 and m17 laptops were announced late last year, these new refreshes are aimed at making the devices the most powerful gaming laptops currently available.

While October’s m15 and m17 were paired with a 1070 Max-Q graphics card and an 8th Gen i7 8750H, this new refresh will see the innards upgraded to an i9-8950HK and the options for either an RTX 2060, 2070 OR 2080. The 2060 option has 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM whereas the latter two are 8GB cards.

Of course, with specifications that intense, the m15 will take full advantage of the Cryo-Tech 2.0 cooling system introduced prior. Combining a dual-intake, dual-exhaust design with load balanced heat pipes, the m15 and m17 are designed to counteract any thermal throttling you may encounter during gameplay.

With ray-tracing being implemented into laptop technology, gaming laptops are certainly becoming more interesting.

The m17 with an i9 processor and latest Nvidia Graphics will become available on January 21st. Pricing starts at $1,579.99. The m15 starts at $1,649.99
