The release date for Death Stranding, the mysterious PlayStation 4 exclusive from the mind of Hideo Kojima, has been officially confirmed as November 8th.

A tweet from PlayStation Japan confirmed the release date and also dropped a whopping 9 minute long trailer.

The trailer features highlights such as Mads Mikkelsen’s character Cliff gently singing a lullaby, a very futuristic looking motorbike, an ominous storm, gameplay footage, some intense violin music, and much much more. Trust us on this one – you need to watch it to fully experience what’s going on here.

Death Stranding appears to be an open-world action game. The PlayStation Store pre-order screen describes it as follows:

Sam Bridges must brave a world transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the remnants of our future in his hands, he embarks on a journey to reunite the shattered world.

The game features an all-star cast including Norman Reedus, Margaret Qualley, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, Lindsay Wagner, Nicolas Winding Refn, Troy Baker, Guillermo del Toro, Tommie Earl Jenkins, and Emily O’Brien.

I had the opportunity to speak to Mads Mikkelsen in-person about his experiences with Kojima last year, and he said that he had a ‘lot of fun’ with the mo-cap headgear.

Death Stranding is out on November 8th, 2019. Pre-orders for the game are now open over at the PlayStation Store. Just be aware that the page might not load due to the fact that it’s currently being flooded by people wanting to pre-order the game ASAP, so be patient!
