Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition has been granted a surprise new update for Xbox One X owners.
Last night, Darksiders II owners got a new download for the age-old title. While the update brought with it some much-needed achievement fixes, it also introduced Xbox One X support to the game.
Xbox One X support was supposed to launch for the game last November, around the same time that Darksiders 3 released, but it never arrived.

We just released a new patch for Darksiders II – Deathinitive Edition on Xbox One:– Fixes BFA Achievement

Alongside the new spruced up resolution, which is native 4K, Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition has been granted improved framerates.
Those who have played the original incarnation of this remaster may know about the unstable performance that plagued the original release. Interacting with heavy alpha effect scenes would tank the framerate; simply moving through the overworld on Death’s horse would cause unnatural drops. This has, allegedly, been fixed.
