A CD Projekt Red representative revealed in a recent interview that Cyberpunk 2077 plans to go all out with its in-game subject matter.
The original interview has been translated from Polish by members of the game’s forums. You can find a general rundown of the interview here, thanks to NeoGAF.
“We will not avoid any subject, even if they may offend the sensitivity of some.” The representative said. “Our vision of Cyberpunk is not to describe an alternative world but a continuity of our world.”
“Some things will look like our current reality. For example, Christianity is present in the game and will even have a faction.”
The journalist conducting the interview then asked if the presence of religion would be likely to create a scandal, to which the CD Projekt Red representative replied with “We will not avoid any subject, even if they may offend the sensitivity of some. We are not here to say whether it is good or bad.”
Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour, and body modification. You take the role of V, a mercenary outlaw on the hunt for a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality.
Cyberpunk 2077 launches on April 16th, 2020, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. You can pre-order it on PS4 here, Xbox One here, and Steam here.
