Google has been working on the Material design for a long time. The company recently implemented the design into Chrome as well. The new Material design has been in Canary builds for a while now and is accessible on public builds using Chrome Flags.

However, Google is set to roll out the new design for Windows, Mac, Android and Linux with the upcoming Chrome 69 update. The company has confirmed that Chome 69 update will roll out in September and will enable Modern Design.

Chrome Browser will have a new design across all operating systems. Highlights include Microsoft® Windows 10® notification-center integration, touchpad gesture navigation on Windows, and autofill updates.

The Chrome 69 update is currently in beta and will be available for public on 4th September 2018. If you’re running the latest beta update on any of your devices then you can enable the new design using Chrome Flags.

For Windows/Mac/Linux:

chrome://flags/#top-chrome-md

For Android:

chrome://flags/#enable-chrome-modern-design

Once you have opened the flag, select “Refresh” and “Enable” on Android from the drop-down menu. Once done, restart Chrome to make sure the changes take effect.
