It also shows that ChatGPT is beyond more than just a tool. We don't give credit to mere tools.

Key notes

  • Credits for “Save the Tigers” on Disney+ Hotstar list AI model ChatGPT alongside “Club Song Remix.”
  • Unclear if ChatGPT helped create or remix the song, but it marks potential AI involvement in music production.

The Indian Telugu-language comedy-drama series “Save the Tigers” surprised viewers in its season 2 finale with an unusual credit. It was credited for writing (or anything else, not confirmed yet) a “Club Song Remix”

This shows that ChatGPT may have created or remixed the club song featured in the episode. While the exact nature of its contribution remains unclear, it shows a potential first for AI involvement in music production for a TV series, at least from what’s known.

Here is the screenshot with other details.

This is not the first time ChatGPT has been used in a show, or at least, it is openly known that ChatGPT has been used in a show. There is a South Park episode about ChatGPT, co-written by ChatGPT and called “Deep Learning.”

Viewers had different reactions to it, as expected. Some viewers found it funny and said that the credit might be an alias for a human music producer. Others praised the show for its transparency in crediting AI, suggesting that as AI tools like ChatGPT gain wider acceptance, crediting them could become more common.

However, a few comments pointed out that crediting AI implies that it’s more than just a tool, which can blur the line between human and machine creativity. I wonder if they used the free GPT-3.5 or paid for GPT-4, which now has no message limit but somehow is worse.

Save the Tigers, available on Disney+ Hotstar, follows the story of three frustrated husbands who bond over their marital woes. The series’ use of AI in music production hints at a growing trend of integrating artificial intelligence into the creative process.
