Activision and Sony’s exclusive content deal for PlayStation players has resulted in Create A Class slots and more being exclusive to PS4 and PS5.
Revealed on the PlayStation blog, Activision’s exclusive offerings as part of their PlayStation partnership will give players multiple in-game bonuses while limiting some features for other platforms.
Firstly, PlayStation players that purchase the Battle Pass for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War will progress through the pass faster than those who purchase the same content for the same price on Xbox or PC. This exclusive bonus skips five extra tears on the Battle Pass for PlayStation players.
Secondly, PlayStation players will have access to exclusive XP boosts. There will be monthly double XP days as well as 25% bonus weapon XP for PlayStation players that play in a party. The bonus still counts when playing with cross-platform teammates.
Finally, PS4 and PS5 players will be able to access two additional Create A Class load out slots that every other platform is unable to have. While not a huge downgrade, the limiting of Create A Class slots takes away a meaningful quality of life function for Black Ops Cold War.
These exclusive tidbits add up to craft a rather one-sided package, especially with PS4 and PS5 players having exclusive access to the full Zombies Onslaught mode for an entire year. It’s clear that buying Black Ops Cold War on one platform is not the same as buying it on PlayStation.
