Yesterday, Bing Maps team announced a set of new features that are updated in Bing Maps.

  • Venue Maps: Bing Maps now features 900 venue maps including interiors maps of malls, airports, casinos and shopping districts. It will be initially available for the following markets: United States, United Kingdom, France, and Germany.
  • Local Business: Zoom-in into Bing Maps and find some of the most popular businesses in the area, including hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, shopping centers, art galleries, ATMs, and much more. It will be initially available for the following markets: United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, and Germany.
  • 3D Maps: Bing Maps now features semi- transparent 3D building outlines for metropolitan areas when you zoom in far enough. It will be initially available for the following markets: United States and select cities in the United Kingdom, Canada and France.
  • Label Shortcuts: You can now click a label of a place on the Bing Maps for zooming into it. You don’t need to scroll down to the place.

While the above mentioned features were announced yesterday for Bing Desktop Maps, you can expect the same in Bing Maps Mobile Experience soon. The 3D Maps stuff was one of the most notable features that Google showcased with its Google Maps 5.0 for Android and its good to see that Windows Phones will get similar experience using Bing.
