Baby Monitor for Windows Mobile – a use case that wont get you locked up

We have written about Baby Monitor for Windows Mobile before, and then were rather worried about the risks of the parents getting locked up for child neglect. Pavel Ananyev, the author of the application, now writes to us with a more reasonable use of the application.

Mr Ananyev suggests a more practical use may be to use the app to monitor not your baby, but your house while you are away on vacation. If you have a spare Windows Mobile device (and who doesn’t these days) and a SIM (Pay as You Go would be fine) you could easily use the application to be alerted to loud noises in your supposedly empty property, and then be able to listen in to confirm the intrusion.

In this case the unlimited range would actually be useful, rather than a feature what could lose you your child.

Of course to make the application perfect for this use it should be able to send you an MMS from the camera, hopefully Pavel will add this feature when he continues development in this direction.

To celebrate this new-found sense of purpose the software is being sold at a 30% discount till January 31 by entering Coupon Code 777, bringing the price down to a reasonable $14.
