Apple today officially sent out its invite for the upcoming press event during which it will reveal the next generation iPhone and several other new products. The event will take place on Sep 12th at Steve Jobs Theater in Apple’s new campus.
Apple will be launching three new mobile devices based on the iPhone X’s design. The highest end iPhone will have a 6.5-inch display and come as one of the largest smartphones on the market. it will retain Apple’s iPhone X glass-backed design as well as its dual camera set up. Apple will be adapting its apps to support horizontal layouts just as its larger Plus sized iPhones have offered in the past. While the older iPhone X had a large screen than the Pluses of years past, in practice, Apple did not support those layouts om the smaller handset, likely due to its width. The 5.8-inch iPhone X will also see a successor, which will be built more like an S-series update.
The wholly new iPhone will still be iPhone X inspired by design, but it will come with an LCD screen and be aimed at replacing the iPhone 6 and 5C in the market. Apple will give this handset a 6.1-inch screen and swap stainless steel for aluminum.
Apple will also reveal next generation iPad Pro with FaceID and next generation Apple Watch with a slightly larger display. In the coming days, you can expect more leaks about these new products.
