We have reported in the past that Apple is planning to separate iTunes into different apps and finally kill iTunes altogether. Now a new report seems to confirm the same.

The report comes from Bloomberg (via Neowin) and confirms that iTunes might be retired for good. Earlier reports claimed that Apple would break iTunes into separate apps but will make iTunes available for users with older Apple devices. However, the new report from Bloomberg confirms that Apple will completely depreciate iTunes and users will need to download separate apps for Movies and Music.

That said, we don’t expect Apple to make the change on Windows as well so we might see iTunes for some time on the Microsoft Store. We expect to get more details surrounding the change at WWDC 2019 which is scheduled to kick off on 3rd June 2019.
