Apple today announced its latest flagship smartphones, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The new models, which feature a titanium design, an Action button, advanced camera upgrades, and the A17 Pro chip, are set to be available for pre-orders starting September 15, with general availability beginning on September 22.
Titanium Design and Display
The new models are constructed from aerospace-grade titanium, making them the lightest Pro models ever produced by Apple. They boast contoured edges, a customizable Action button that replaces the single-function switch used to toggle between ring and silent, and a Super Retina XDR display equipped with Always-On and ProMotion technologies.
Revolutionary Camera System
The new models come with a 48MP Main camera that supports a 24MP default, Focus and Depth Control, Night mode, and Smart HDR. They also feature a Telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom on the iPhone 15 Pro and 5x on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. These features allow users to take portraits without switching to Portrait mode and adjust the focus point later.
A17 Pro Chip
The A17 Pro chip is the industry’s first 3-nanometer chip. It comes with a faster CPU, Neural Engine, and GPU. It supports hardware-accelerated ray tracing, AV1 decoding, USB 3 speeds, and video output up to 4K at 60 fps HDR. This enables next-level gaming experiences with console titles like Resident Evil Village and Death Stranding.
Additional Features
The new models support Wi-Fi 6E, Thread, Precision Finding for Find My friends, Roadside Assistance via satellite, and Emergency SOS via satellite. They come pre-installed with iOS 17, which offers new features like Contact Posters, Live Voicemail, Journal, StandBy, and more. In line with Apple’s commitment to environmental sustainability, the new models are designed using more recycled content and less plastic.
- iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will be available in black titanium, white titanium, blue titanium, and natural titanium finishes. iPhone 15 Pro remains at the same starting price of $999 (U.S.) or $41.62 (U.S.) per month, available in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage capacities. iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at $1,199 (U.S.) or $49.95 (U.S.) per month, available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage capacities.
