Apple is expected to release a cheaper MacBook Air this year. While the firm has increasingly been heading upmarket with its MacBooks, Apple is rumoured to be releasing a new, cheaper MacBook to capture the lower end and boost shipments.
The reliable KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that Apple will be refreshing the MacBook air this year with a lower price tag, aimed to increase quarterly shipments by up to 15%. Apple’s MacBook Air is its everyday laptop, aimed at the users who want the svelte MacBook form factor, but can’t afford the more expensive MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops.
Apple’s MacBook Air will most likely come in cheaper than Microsoft’s Surface Laptop, but will probably feature inferior specs w=like lower-screen resolution and lack of USB C if Apple is simply refreshing the internals with the latest processors.
We’ll find out more about Apple’s newest MacBook Air when the firm launches them as Q2 2018 approaches.
