Microsoft never made a serious run at a smart watch but has been toying with the idea for years, meaning numerous prototypes have showed up over the years showing us what could have been.

The latest to pop up in China is an Xbox-branded wearable with a 1.5 inch display, heart rate monitor, GPS tracker and work-out apps.

The device was leaked by Hikari Calyx on twitter, and would likely have been an early design competitor to the similar but less fully featured Nokia smart watch, which was later replaced by the Microsoft Band, which did briefly make it to market.
