The good news just keeps on dropping today. Just as Larry Hryb announced that numerous Halo games would be backward compatible today, Brad Rossetti said that third-party webcam support was now available to Alpha Xbox Insiders. In a post on Mixer, Microsoft said:
“Starting today, support for USB webcams on Xbox One arrives for Xbox Insiders (Preview Alpha Ring)—including the ability to plug in and use them for broadcasting on Mixer! Those within the Alpha Ring of the Xbox Insider program will see this functionality as early as today, and rolling out to more Insiders in the coming weeks.”
However, that’s not all. Many thought that Mixer was the only one getting this functionality but later Rossetti said that Skype would also benefit from third-party webcams.
Alpha Users we are also testing 3rd party USB camera support for Skype so test away and please provide feedback!

This is definitely a great day to be an Alpha Xbox Insider. Be sure to check out the webcam and to give Microsoft feedback about the feature.
