According to a new report from Bloomberg, Adobe is now planning to release Illustrator app for Apple iPad next year. Adobe is expected to preview Illustrator for iPad at its Max conference in November. As Apple is moving towards ARM-based Macs in the coming years, it is important for Adobe to rewrite their apps and make them ready for the new platform. Adobe has started with Photoshop and Illustrator, but you can expect them to announce other apps as well in the future.

Last year, Adobe demoed a brand-new version of Photoshop for iPad that was built using the same code that powers the Photoshop desktop app. This new Photoshop for iPad is currently being tested by beta users. Last week, we reported that beta testers of this upcoming Photoshop app complained about lack of several well-established features they expected to be part of the release. The new Photoshop for iPad does not include key features that are part of filters, the pen tool and custom paintbrush libraries, vector drawing, colour spaces, RAW editing, smart objects, layer styles and more. Adobe is planning to release regular updates for this app that adds new features in the coming months.
