Just a few days after the big launch of Windows 10, Acer is launching a new line of affordable notebooks to take on Chromebooks. The new line of notebooks are branded as Acer Aspire One Cloudbooks, runs Windows 10 Home and are pretty cheap.
The company has introduced a 14-inch and a 11-inch variant. Acer is calling the 14-inch variant the Cloudbook 14 and the 11-inch variant is called Cloudbook 11. Both of them are priced under $200 – which is, indeed, quite impressive.
Both of the devices come with the Intel Celeron N3050, Dual-core Airmont 1.6-2.16GHz and Intel HD Graphics 12 EUs 320-600MHz. These devices also include 2GB DDR3L RAM, which is decent for the price.
As expected, the Cloudbook 14 comes with better storage, it will offer 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. The Cloudbook 11, one the other hand, comes with 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. The Cloudbook 11 also packs a 11.6″ (1366×788) display, while the Cloudbook 14 sports a 14-inch display.
The Cloudbook 11 starts at $169.99, while the Cloudbook 14 starts at $199.99. Acer has announced that the Cloudbook 11 will be available starting this month and the 14-inch variant will launch in September.
Impressively enough, both of the devices come with one year of Office 365 Personal subscription, as well as 1TB of free OneDrive storage.
Both of these devices does indeed pack decent hardware for the price. It’ll be interesting to see if other OEMs also launch low cost notebooks to take on Chromebooks in the near future. Until then, tell us what you think of Acer’s latest notebooks in the comment section below.
