A new 12.3 inch detachable Chromebook built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform is on the way

Googles ChromeOS platform continues to grow as more features and devices are added to it. Now, a new Chromebook has been spotted, codenamed cheza, this is the first Chromebook that will run on the Snapdragon 845. Now, while ARM Chromebooks aren’t new, Chromebooks have tended to work on low end to mid range processors that often slow down. With Google moving ChromeOS from a minimal platform to one which will support Windows, Android and Linux, it makes sense that the platform maker pushes for higher powered devices.

The Cheza will also have a 12.3-inch detachable display at a 3:3 aspect ration with a 2160×1440 resolution, much like one of Microsoft’s Surfaces.

As per XDA Developers, this Chromebook will come with a stylus. With the power of the Google Play Store backing it and excellent hardware, it’ll be able to compete with devices pick the Surface and iPad pro for consumers who want high-end hardware but don’t particularly care for niche software.

There’s no indication which manufacturer is bringing the cheza to market, as for that we’ll have to wait and see.
